One death reported after Hamirpur bridge span collapses during construction

A bridge span collapsed during construction on Hamirpur Bypass on October 2. Amar Ujala’s updated report quoted Deputy Commissioner Gandharva Rathore confirming one death and reported three injured workers.

NHAI initially reported three injuries in ANI’s account. Its project director later described rescuing workers stranded on a pillar.

The authority cited a mechanical failure during placement of the 90-metre steel structure; the technical cause remains under investigation.
