Punjab Police and Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two students in the Jammu region over alleged involvement in violence at Lovely Professional University, NDTV reported on October 2. This interstate action follows earlier remand proceedings in Punjab.

The Indian Express corroborated the operation. Jalandhar Range DIG Naveen Singla said 20 people had been identified and named in the cases. Police are examining CCTV, online videos and technical material to establish individual roles.

NDTV reported that another student sought by police denied involvement in destruction, saying circulating videos lacked context. The allegations remain subject to legal proceedings.

The September unrest followed an online sexual-assault claim. Police told the Express they had neither established an assault nor traced the alleged survivor. The university denies the allegation. The unresolved claim is neither a proven assault nor a court finding that no offence occurred.
