India’s embassy in Oman said on October 2 that five Indian nationals aboard MT Kazimah III were brought safely ashore.
The Kuwait-flagged tanker was struck by a projectile in the Strait of Hormuz. Moneycontrol reported the strike and fire occurred October 1, before the rescue announcement.
The mission thanked Omani authorities for helping coordinate the rescue. The Times of India also reported all five safe; responsibility for the strike is not established here.
