Delhi Development Authority’s review of 736 parks classified 190 as high-risk, 258 as medium-risk and 288 as low-risk. The New Indian Express and IANS reported the authority’s official findings on October 2.

The review found cameras in only 16 parks, with 323 more identified for CCTV installation. Additional lighting was required in 520 parks. DDA said lighting work had been completed in 106; those figures do not mean every proposed upgrade is finished.

The authority also reported repairs to boundary grilles in 233 of 399 identified parks and the start of night patrols in 245 major parks. It said a central tracker, weekly inspections and meetings with residents would support follow-through.

The audit followed the lieutenant governor’s directions amid concerns over sexual violence in public spaces. Its published findings identify infrastructure gaps; the effectiveness of the announced measures will depend on their implementation and maintenance.
