Budgam Police said on October 4 that a bag containing medicines and food had been recovered near Palmaidan in Doodhpathri, Jammu and Kashmir. The official statement linked the recovery to the continuing investigation into the September 29 encounter and said officers were examining a suspected supply network.
The New Indian Express reported that the recovery took place on Sunday during the continuing search. Its report and Kashmir Life’s contemporaneous account both described the bag as having been found near the earlier encounter site. The fresh development is this recovery and its disclosure, rather than a new encounter.
According to the police account reported by ANI, investigators are checking where the items came from, how they reached the location and whether anyone supplied them to Hashim Moosa. Authorities had identified Moosa as a Lashkar-e-Taiba commander after the September operation. The suggestion that the recovered items were intended for him remains an investigative suspicion.
Kashmir Life reported that the recovery forms part of FIR No. 181/2026 at Khansahib police station. The October 4 statement did not identify a supplier or announce an arrest connected with the bag. The sources reviewed do not establish ownership of the items or anyone’s criminal responsibility; police said the investigation was continuing.
