The National Statistics Office announced on October 1 that its CAPEX 2026 survey would collect information from large private corporate enterprises during October–December. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation said the exercise is intended to provide timely information on business capital expenditure and emerging investment trends.
The survey covers spending undertaken in recent financial years, provisional expenditure in the current year and plans for the following year. This separates money already invested from estimates and intentions. A planned project is not proof that expenditure has occurred or that the project will be completed.
The ministry describes this as the third round, building on the earlier exercises, and says it will examine different asset groups and industry sectors. It has asked selected enterprises to cooperate. The announcement launches data collection; it does not yet provide the results of CAPEX 2026 or establish a new increase in actual private investment.
