Kumkum Mohod won the women’s individual recurve archery gold at the Asian Games on October 3, beating South Korea’s Oh Yejin 6–5. DD India’s IANS-based report and UNI’s morning account agree that the match was decided by a one-arrow shoot-off after five sets ended level at 5–5.

Mohod scored 10 in the decider against Oh’s eight. Earlier she had trailed 3–5 after four sets, then scored a perfect 30 in the fifth to keep the final alive. The result is India’s first gold in the women’s individual recurve event at the Games.

The campaign also secured a women’s individual recurve quota for India at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The quota belongs to the country rather than guaranteeing Mohod personal selection. She had beaten China’s Zhu Jingyi 6–2 in the semifinal. Her individual gold is a separate result from the women’s team gold and mixed-team silver already won at these Games.
