The Indian Air Force held the second edition of its Sekhon memorial running event in several cities on October 4. Air Chief Marshal A. P. Singh flagged off the Delhi run at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Akashvani reported.

Air Vice Marshal Shekhar Yadav said the event commemorated Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon, the IAF’s sole Param Vir Chakra recipient. The programme included 21-kilometre, 10-kilometre and five-kilometre categories.

In separate Chandigarh reporting, ANI spoke to Haryana Police athlete Amit Kumar after he completed the 10-kilometre run. The agency also interviewed a participant who had travelled from Uttarakhand, providing accounts from runners beyond the official event description.

Mid-day reported that Air Marshal Yalla Umesh flagged off the Mumbai event and that civilians, serving personnel and veterans took part. These reports concern the runs held on October 4. They do not provide a consolidated, independently checked national attendance total or complete race results.
