Antim Panghal won silver in the women’s 53kg wrestling competition at the Asian Games on October 3, losing the final 1–9 to Japan’s Moe Kiyooka. The Wrestling Federation of India confirmed the medal in an official post, while ANI and IANS separately reported the result from the Games in Japan.

Kiyooka built a 2–0 lead by the end of the opening period, according to IANS. Antim attempted to respond after the break, but the Japanese wrestler widened the gap. IANS also reported an unsuccessful challenge by Antim during the bout. The final score left Kiyooka with gold and the Indian wrestler with silver.

The result improves on Antim’s bronze at the previous Asian Games in Hangzhou. The federation highlighted her consecutive podium finishes in the same weight category.
