Neeraj Chauhan won the men’s individual recurve archery bronze at the Asian Games on October 3, defeating fellow Indian Dhiraj Bommadevara 6–4. The competition’s Ianseo results service records the completed match; the newspaper Deepika’s report on Saturday independently reported the same result.
Chauhan won the opening set 29–26, before Bommadevara took the next two 28–27 and 29–28. Chauhan then levelled the match with a 30–28 fourth set and won the deciding set 29–28. Those set wins produced six set points for Chauhan and four for Bommadevara.
Earlier in the same finals session, Bommadevara lost his semifinal 3–7 to South Korea’s Lee Woo Seok. Chauhan was beaten 1–7 by Japan’s Junya Nakanishi. The official results placed the two Indian archers in the bronze playoff, where Chauhan recovered from his semifinal defeat to secure the medal.
