Neeru Dhanda carried India’s flag at the Asian Games closing ceremony in Nagoya on October 4, bringing the country’s participation in the Aichi-Nagoya edition to a formal close. Akashvani and ANI reported the completed ceremony that day, while Rediff’s October 4 account described the Indian contingent’s parade at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.
The Indian Olympic Association’s medal display, checked on October 4, showed India fourth overall with 85 medals: 21 gold, 27 silver and 37 bronze. The same totals appear in the closing-ceremony reports. These are the tournament’s accumulated results, not medals won at the ceremony or a new one-day haul.
Dhanda’s flag-bearing role followed two gold medals and a silver in trap shooting. ANI’s October 4 report records her individual women’s gold, the women’s team silver with Aashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer, and mixed-team gold with Kynan Chenai. Those competition results preceded the closing ceremony; her appearance with the national flag was the new Sunday development.
Akashvani reported that the Olympic Council of Asia president declared the Games closed and that ceremonial items were handed to representatives of Qatar, host of the next edition in Doha in 2030. The Indian contingent’s final parade marked the end of the Games programme, while the medal table provides the national total across the completed competitions.
