Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said more than ₹36.17 crore in tendu-leaf bonuses was transferred to the accounts of over nine lakh collectors on October 4 at a programme in Mandla. The payment covered eight forest divisions, with local reporting also confirming the distribution on Sunday.
The payment relates to the 2024 bonus, according to Dainik Jagran’s detailed account. It put the beneficiary count at 9,04,126 and the amount at ₹36,17,37,518. The covered divisions are East and West Mandla, North and South Seoni, North and South Balaghat, Dindori and Jabalpur.
A separate payment of more than ₹26.56 crore was made to members of forest committees. Yadav confirmed that transfer in a second statement. Naidunia reported that it was a timber dividend distributed to members of 84 forest committees. The timber dividend is separate from the tendu-leaf bonus.
The Mandla programme also combined inaugurations and foundation-laying ceremonies. Jagran reported 27 completed works worth more than ₹197 crore were inaugurated, while foundations were laid for 47 works costing more than ₹263 crore. Those two groups together account for the programme’s 74 development works; the foundation-laying projects should not be read as already completed.
Yadav also announced government colleges in Mohgaon and Ghughri and a tiger-safari zoo in Mandla. He said betel cultivation would be revived and dairy cooperative societies established.
