Bengaluru police disclosed on October 2 that eleven people, including a woman, had been arrested in the Uttarahalli assault investigation. PTI’s report in Deccan Chronicle dates the arrests to September 23–30; Kannada News Today also reported the eleven arrests on Friday.
According to police, the cases concern attacks on September 20 involving sharp-edged weapons and injuries to several people. Investigators attributed the violence to an earlier dispute. Those claims remain allegations, and the assaults did not happen on the date of Friday’s announcement.
PTI reported that a court had placed seven suspects in police custody and four in judicial custody. The police said questioning of the seven was continuing. The report did not specify the date of the custody order.
The current development is the police disclosure of the arrests and investigation status. No verdict establishing the suspects’ responsibility, or response from their defence, was included in the reports reviewed.
