Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan launched a programme for three lakh houses under PMAY-Gramin 2.0 at Burripalem in Guntur district on October 4. The Rural Development Ministry’s October 4 statement and ABN Andhra Jyothy’s report the same day both confirm that the foundation-laying event took place on Sunday.
The ministry puts the wider housing initiative at ₹3,600 crore. Alongside it, the leaders launched a ₹14-crore pilot for 177 houses using 3D concrete printing at Burripalem and Obulanaidupalem. The New Indian Express’s advance report identifies the Union ministry, Andhra Pradesh government and CSIR-Central Building Research Institute in Roorkee as partners in the pilot.
Chouhan said the pilot houses were expected to be completed within six months and that the technology would reduce construction time and costs. These are the government’s expectations; the launch does not establish completed homes, measured savings or long-term performance.
The ministry also quoted Chouhan promising further housing allocations after the current three lakh homes are completed. That is a future commitment, distinct from the programme launched on October 4. The reviewed sources do not establish individual beneficiary payments or a completed construction total.
