Telangana launched a common pass for Hyderabad Metro Rail and TGSRTC city buses on October 2. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka introduced the service at Praja Bhavan, with Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar among those attending. IND Today’s Maxim News report and Prajatantra’s Telugu coverage describe the completed launch.
The daily pass costs ₹400 and the monthly pass ₹8,500. IND Today reports that the pass covers Metro travel and eligible city buses operating within the Outer Ring Road. Pushpak airport services are excluded. The common card is available at Metro stations; a ₹100 initial card charge is refundable on return.
The arrangement lets passengers combine bus and train journeys under one pass. The fare should be compared with a commuter’s usual spending and route eligibility; a common pass does not necessarily make every journey cheaper. TGSRTC also introduced its MeeTicket mobile facility for digital bus tickets and passes. The two announcements do not mean every bus service or fare concession is automatically included in the joint pass.
