Gujarat farmers now have until October 24 to register for minimum-support-price procurement of groundnut, moong, soybean and urad, Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani said on Sunday, October 4. The previous deadline was October 9, making the extension 15 days.

IANS and a separately bylined Gujarati Jagran report carry the revised dates. Vaghani said the state acted after requests from MPs, MLAs and farmer representatives. The change concerns registration for the procurement process; it is not an announcement that all registered produce has already been purchased.

A separate application window opened on October 4 through the i-Khedut portal for Rabi-season benefits involving certified seeds, seed mini kits and demonstration components. According to the Agriculture Department’s announcement reported by ANI, these applications remain open until October 15, a 12-day window including both dates.

The two deadlines serve different purposes: October 15 is for the specified Rabi benefits, while October 24 is for registration to sell the four Kharif crops at MSP. The reviewed reports do not establish individual eligibility, guaranteed allotments or payment dates. Farmers should check the relevant scheme’s requirements before submitting an application.
