Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated Delhi’s Barapullah Phase III elevated corridor on September 29, the Home Ministry announced through PIB that evening. The ministry put its cost at ₹1,635 crore.
The Indian Express reported on September 29 that the project was approved in 2014, construction began in 2015 and the original completion target was 2017. The new link joins Mayur Vihar Phase I to Sarai Kale Khan and the existing Barapullah network, with facilities for pedestrians and cyclists.
The government expects the corridor to ease East–South Delhi journeys. That is an expected benefit; the reviewed material did not provide measured post-opening travel times, and this report does not promise a fixed journey duration.
Shah also inaugurated the Mukarba Chowk underpass and laid foundation stones for the Modi Mill–Savitri Cinema flyover and Loni underpass projects. Foundation-laying marks proposed construction, not opening those additional routes to traffic.
