Actor Dino Morea appeared at Mumbai’s Economic Offences Wing on October 2 in the investigation into alleged irregularities in Mithi River desilting contracts. The Times of India reported his arrival at police headquarters and quoted an EOW officer confirming that he had been summoned for questioning.

Morea denied reports that he had been detained or arrested in a direct WhatsApp response to Mid-Day. The newspaper’s October 2 update said it had no independent EOW confirmation of an arrest. It also quoted a senior EOW officer confirming questioning based on investigative leads.

The inquiry concerns alleged irregularities in river-cleaning contracts. Police have been examining financial records, including material previously sought in 2025, The Times of India reported. Questioning does not establish an offence.

The verified new development is the October 2 appearance and the actor’s denial. Asal Sach is not treating an unconfirmed arrest report, or speculation about a future arrest, as an established fact. The procedural distinction matters: questioning, arrest, a formal accusation and a conviction are different stages.
