The Narcotics Control Bureau said its Mumbai unit seized 500 kilograms of ganja from a goods truck in Nagpur and arrested three people on October 4. ANI’s account of an official NCB release and separate reporting by Free Press Journal place the interception in the early hours of Sunday.

According to the agency, the cannabis was hidden among steel pipes in the truck. NCB said the pipes had been loaded in Kolkata for delivery to Indore, while the drug consignment had come from Sambalpur in Odisha and was intended for a receiver in Nagpur. It alleged plans for further distribution in Jalna and Indore.

NCB said two people were in the truck when it was stopped. Questioning and a follow-up operation led officers to the alleged receiver, bringing the reported arrest total to three. The agency said it was investigating the wider supply chain and trying to locate other suspected associates.

These accounts describe the agency’s allegations and reported recoveries, not findings of guilt. The reviewed reports did not include a laboratory report, court order or response from the arrested people or their lawyers. The seizure and arrests concern the October 4 Nagpur operation; earlier seizures mentioned by the agency are separate cases.
