Ferozepur police conducted a cordon-and-search operation across parts of the Punjab district on October 4. Two posts on the force’s official X account confirmed searches at homes and locations suspected of being linked to drug trafficking. Separate October 4 reports by Babushahi and the Punjabi newspaper Ajit described the day’s operation.

Babushahi quoted Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh Sidhu as saying 42 identified areas had been checked and around 15 people arrested so far. The operation was still underway when he spoke, making that an interim police count. The official posts reviewed confirm the searches but do not give arrest totals.

Ajit’s local correspondent reported searches by Guru Har Sahai and Lakho Ke Behram police, quoting DSP Tajinder Pal Singh. The officer also said police would help people seeking support to stop using drugs. The reviewed sources did not provide individual charges, an itemised seizure record or responses from those arrested. An arrest does not establish involvement in drug trafficking or guilt.
