Makeup artist and social-media creator Mad Sandhu was shot dead in Amritsar on the evening of October 3. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sirivennela told NDTV that two unidentified men fired at Sandhu at around 6 p.m. The Times of India separately reported the killing, citing Police Commissioner Harmanbir Singh Gill.
Gill said investigators had leads and were working to identify and arrest those responsible. Reports place the attack on Loharka Road and describe assailants arriving on a motorcycle. Accounts differ on whether Sandhu died at the scene or while being taken to hospital, so that detail is not settled here. The confirmed development is the fatal shooting and the police investigation, not an arrest or a completed explanation of the crime.
NDTV reported that investigators were examining a social-media post claiming responsibility. Such a post does not by itself establish who carried out an attack. The reports also describe abusive online treatment of Sandhu, but the material checked does not establish a motive for the killing. No connection to another recent Punjab shooting is asserted. Police statements, identification of suspects and any subsequent court proceedings will be distinct developments in this case.
