The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force arrested two men in Lucknow on October 4 in an investigation into alleged interstate firearms trafficking. UP Police confirmed the arrests and recovery of five firearms in a public statement later that day. The Times of India, citing the STF, placed the arrests at about 1.30 am on the Ahimamau service road near Amara Farm turn, within Sushant Golf City police station limits.
Police identified the two accused as Amarjeet Yadav and Naushad, both from Sultanpur district. The reported weapons recovery comprised two 9 mm pistols, two .32-bore pistols and one country-made .315-bore firearm. The newspaper also reported recovery of ₹1,340 and two bags. An STF team worked with personnel from the local Ahimamau police outpost during the interception.
Investigators allege that the network obtained weapons in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh and resold them in several Uttar Pradesh districts. UP Police’s statement described a suspected interstate supply operation. That account is an allegation under investigation, rather than a court finding about the accused or any wider network.
Amar Ujala reported that an FIR was registered against the two men at Sushant Golf City police station. The accounts reviewed did not include a response from the accused or their lawyers, or a court decision on guilt. The new development is the October 4 arrest and seizure; further investigation will need to establish the source, intended recipients and roles of the people involved.
