Guwahati police disclosed on October 2 that a nightclub manager had been detained for questioning after allegations that a woman was stripped and assaulted. The Times of India quoted Deputy Commissioner of Police Tabu Ram Pegu.
The alleged assault occurred overnight before Friday’s police account. The circumstances and individual roles remain under investigation.
Detention for questioning does not establish responsibility for the alleged attack.
