Two accused have moved from police to judicial custody in the Maharashtra TET paper-leak case, defence lawyer Shailesh Gaikwad told ANI in a report published on October 2. He referred to custody extending to October 14.

Gaikwad questioned the investigation’s progress. That is the defence position. The agency account is ambiguous about the status of the other 16 accused; the remand order was not available for independent inspection. No conviction was reported.

The case began before the examination scheduled for June 28. The Indian Express’s June 27 reporting recorded a Bhiwandi raid and the Maharashtra State Council of Examination’s decision to postpone the test after officials said seized material matched examination questions.

On September 20, The New Indian Express reported, with PTI inputs, that the final two accused named in the chargesheet had been arrested. The new report concerns custody proceedings, not a fresh leak or conviction. The reviewed material did not include a new police response to the defence lawyer’s criticism or a final determination of the charges.
