Malkajgiri Police Commissioner B. Sumathi announced seven additional arrests on October 3 in the investigation into weapons stolen from the Madras Regiment premises at Bolarum. UNI’s October 3 report says those arrested include three serving Army personnel.

According to The Hindu’s account of Saturday’s briefing, police alleged a wider plan involving robberies and efforts to sell weapons through contacts in West Bengal. Investigators said they had not detected a terrorist or extremist connection so far.

The fresh development is the disclosure of additional arrests and the alleged wider conspiracy. The original theft and recovery of military weapons occurred earlier. Precise arrest dates were not specified in the reviewed accounts, and the arrests do not establish guilt.
