Lucknow district magistrate Vishak G. directed officials on October 4 to arrange ten boats for moving flood-affected residents to safer places. He and joint commissioner of police Bablu Kumar inspected Gomti-hit areas, including Saitha and Faizullaganj. Amar Ujala and The Statesman reported the Sunday inspection and instructions.

The directions prioritised pregnant women, children and older people. They also called for adequate medicines at relief camps, medicine kits for affected neighbourhoods, fodder for livestock and increased night patrols. An additional control room was ordered for Daud Nagar to handle residents’ needs and complaints.

Uttar Pradesh Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh told ANI on Sunday that supplies were being delivered to affected homes and medical arrangements were in place. These are official accounts of the response. The reports do not establish that the ten-boat deployment or additional control room had been completed.

Amar Ujala also reported a Sunday road protest in which residents alleged unequal access to rations and assistance. Its local account said sub-divisional magistrate Akash Singh promised to meet their demand for boats and a steamer. The written directions and an independently verified count of households receiving relief were not available for review.
