The Commission for Air Quality Management disclosed on October 2 that its latest enforcement review recorded 85 violation cases from 197 inspections across the National Capital Region. Its task force met on October 1; the inspections covered September 8–24. The figures therefore describe earlier enforcement activity, not inspections performed on publication day.
The Environment Ministry’s release lists proposed closure of four construction projects and one industrial unit, sealing of 28 diesel generators, compliance directions in 17 cases and environmental compensation in ten. These proposals should not be reported as completed shutdowns or penalties already collected.
The News Mill, reporting with ANI inputs, also described a separate September 29 operation in Loni, Ghaziabad. CAQM said all 21 inspected locations were non-compliant and some previously sealed premises showed signs of continued activity. Those 21 inspections are outside the September 8–24 reporting window.
These findings come from the regulator’s account; the reports reviewed do not independently establish conditions at every site or give the operators’ responses. The disclosure supplies enforcement figures, but does not demonstrate a measured improvement in air quality.
