A vigilance court in Kollam sentenced a Pathanamthitta transport-office agent in a driving-licence fraud case on September 30. Kerala Kaumudi and reporting attributed to The Hindu describe an effective six-year prison term. The Times of India separately confirms the conviction and says the sentences will run concurrently.

The case concerns licence and document irregularities from 2008–09. Court reporting identifies the convicted agent as Muhammad Shafeeq and the judge as Mohit C S. Investigators had alleged that licences and related services were arranged without required tests or verification, using forged records.

Some reports add the individual terms to 28 years. Because the sentences run together, that sum should not be presented as the effective prison term. Reports differ on the fine, which is omitted here. The signed judgment and any response or appeal from the convicted man were not available in the reviewed material.
