Reports published on September 29 by The Times of India and Aaj Tak said notices went to district officials, Meta India and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

The commission asked for responses within two weeks. Police were directed to assess the children’s protection and counselling needs and examine the adults responsible for producing or circulating the material. Meta was asked about moderation, possible commercial benefit and preservation of digital evidence.
