BJP regional president Vinod Rai told PTI-Bhasha on Sunday evening, October 4, that state organisation general secretary Dharampal Singh had asked him to gather facts in an internal inquiry into rape allegations against Ballia district president Sanjay Mishra.
Rai said the complainant had met Singh earlier that Sunday. He declined to discuss the meeting’s details and said material was being collected for the state leadership.
Mishra has denied the allegations, describing them as a conspiracy against him. Amar Ujala independently reported his denial on October 3. The new development is the party’s reported fact-gathering process, separate from the previously reported police investigation. Neither an internal inquiry nor the allegations establish guilt. The complainant’s identity and private material are withheld.
