Uttarakhand published its final electoral roll after the Special Intensive Revision on October 3, listing 71,58,949 electors. The Indian Express and ABP reported the figures from the chief electoral officer’s office that day. The official Haridwar district election page also identifies October 3 as the revised date for final publication.
The final total is 25,164 higher than the July draft. During the claims-and-objections stage, 1,29,872 names were added and 1,04,708 removed, according to the reported official figures. Compared with the 79,60,762 electors recorded when revision began on June 8, the final roll has 8,01,813 fewer names.
Officials said booth-level officers would compare earlier and current lists, visit people whose names were absent and help eligible voters apply through Form 6. That follow-up direction predates the final publication; Saturday’s development is the release of the final roll and its figures. Final publication does not end the process of registering eligible voters.
The aggregate decline does not by itself establish that every omitted person was wrongly excluded. Equally, a published final total cannot settle individual eligibility disputes. Those require examination of the relevant application, records and decision.
